  • The authors tried to test the robustness of the anticipatory looking pattern paradigms in estimating the theory capabilities of mind of two year olds
  • They tried to replicate the trials of Paper - Action Anticipation Through Attribution of False Belief by 2-Year-Olds (Southgate), but fails in doing so
  • The large exclusion rates of southgate were also present and throw up questions
  • They argue that their findings, together with findings from previously published studies, suggest that the paradigm might not elicit belief-based anticipatory looking strongly enough. Rather, fixations by a considerable number of participants are randomly distributed or driven by some other cognitive process.
