Book - Deep Work.. 3 Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World presents a quote by David Brooks:
"If you want to win the war for attention, don’t try to say ‘no’ to the trivial distractions you find on the information smorgasbord; try to say ‘yes’ to the subject that arouses a terrifying longing, and let the terrifying longing crowd out everything else.”
As soon as you become clear about your goals and focus on the things that really matter, saying 'no' to other things becomes infinitely easier.
The book essentialism will come back to this idea and improve some stuff, as this is one of the core concepts of the book.
Marie Kondos approach of keeping the things that spark joy will be linked her (she literally states that her method is about keeping things)
