IT security is so difficult because there is no single 'security' module

  • Till told me a very interesting face about why security is often more difficult than other topics in computer science. Other CS fields often focus on a very small subset of systems. A database developer will mostly only deal with the database module in a given system.
  • There is, however, no "security module" in any computer system, as security deals with all system components and the interactions between them. New security challenges are therefore arising fast and specialists have to keep up with a lot of different technologies.
